About us

Our Story
We worked closely together for many years within a Local Authority’s Early Help Service, supporting families with complex needs. Our role was to work individually with families using a holistic approach whilst also coming together to co-facilitate the Incredible Years Parenting Groups. With this proven track record, great working partnership and shared passion for the Incredible Years ethos, Incredible Parenting was born.
Incredible Parenting works with families and individuals offering tailored 1:1 support in your own home, using the Incredible Years model, skills and strategies. Our established skill set and extensive experience comes together to offer parenting groups within communities, schools or to a group of friends who are seeking support.

KATE BENTLEY

Founder/Partner

I have worked with Children and Families for over 20 years.
I first started my career as a Nursery Nurse at Milton Keynes Preparatory School before heading off to university in Brighton to study a BA Hons Degree in Social Policy & Administration. I was always torn between working as a teacher or a social worker so when I discovered the Education Welfare Service I felt I had found the right match. I worked as an Education Welfare Officer for a local authority for 15 years supporting families where there was low school attendance. In 2013 I moved into the Early Help Service and became a Senior Child & Family Worker supporting families with complex needs and delivering the Incredible Years Parenting Groups. I acted up as the Assistant Team Manager of this team for a significant amount of time before making the decision to concentrate on Incredible Parenting.
Along side my work at Incredible Parenting I also hold the position as  Family Group Conference Coordinator for a Local Authority.

In 2013 I achieved an Advanced Certificate in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples, and in 2015 I studied at The Institute of Family Therapy and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Intermediate Child Focused Systemic Practice.
In 2018 I gained my accreditation to be a certified group leader for The Incredible Years: Parent Training Series. This was awarded by  DR Carolyn Webster Stratton founder of The Incredible Years Parenting Series.
In 2020 I completed a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling & CBT.
In 2021 I successfully completed the STOP Level 1 Parent Training Programme and the PIT STOP parent training programme.
In 2022 I successfully completed the Richard Rose Therapeutic Life Story Work Professional Diploma.

After 20 years of working in this field I haven't lost my passion for supporting children and families, I continue to learn with every family I  work with. My style is always strength based,  focusing on what is working well and how we can build on that.
I am also a working Mum of 2 so completely understand the pressures of family life.

JULIE EVANS

Founder/Partner

I have worked with individuals, families, young people and children for over 20 years.

During my career, I have been in the privileged position of working closely with parents, carers and families. Through individual support, whole family work or group delivery, I thrive on working holistically and collaboratively. This approach enables parents to have the space to reflect and gain different perspectives bringing families closer together and strengthening
their relationships. I have been able to make a real difference in supporting children and young people through tailored 1:1 support focusing on their strengths and building on them. I get an immense sense of pride being part of their journey and seeing them thrive.

I have a huge passion for any opportunity to catch up with families to see the progress in which they have continued to make and to celebrate with them. Either working individually, delivering parenting groups or working as part of a multi disciplinary team, such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHs), I have always received really positive feedback from individual families, professionals and group members. I continue to develop my skills as a practitioner and enjoy learning from every family and group that I work with.
